Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving communication, public speaking, and leadership skills through a structured program of meetings and educational resources. 

Anyone over 18 years old interested in improving their communication and leadership skills can join Toastmasters. 

Meetings typically include prepared speeches, impromptu speaking (Table Topics), and constructive evaluations. Whitehorse has also implemented "Watchdog" roles to help us all identify improvements for specific techniques (ie. grammar and gestures).

Members take on various roles to practice different aspects of communication and leadership. 

Benefits include gaining confidence in public speaking, improving presentation skills, receiving constructive feedback, developing leadership abilities, and networking with like-minded individuals. 

Yes, there are membership dues that vary by location. Additionally, there may be costs for educational materials or special events. 

Whitehorse Toastmasters meet on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday of every month. Meetings usually last for around 2 hours.

No, participation is voluntary. Members can choose to speak when they feel ready, and there are various roles and activities at meetings besides prepared speeches.

No, Toastmasters is for anyone interested in personal development. Members come from diverse backgrounds including professionals, students, stay-at-home parents, retirees, and more. 

Absolutely! We encourage all prospective members to attend a couple meetings with us before deciding whether it is right for them. Each club will have a different dynamic and every single person adds to the culture and way we run things.
